Brazil exported 2,355 metric tons (mt) of cold-rolled coils (CRC) in July and imported 5,475 mt, compared with 13,000 mt exported and 36,300 mt imported during June, according to data from Secex, the foreign trade secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
In July, ArcelorMittal exported 1,405 mt at $1,293/mt and 456 mt at $964/mt to Argentina, while Usiminas shipped 448 mt at $989 mt to Argentina and 46 mt at $710/mt to Paraguay, FOB conditions.
The imports came from Asia (5,359 mt at $632/mt) and Europe (116 mt at $1,016/mt), also FOB conditions.
Vietnam has become Brazil's leading CRC supplier, replacing South Korea, with shipments of 4,296 mt at $631/mt. South Korea had previously taken the top spot from China after Brazil imposed antidumping measures on Chinese CRC and coated flat products in February.
