Germany’s crude steel and pig iron output fall in October

The Federal Statistics office announced that Germany's crude steel production amounted to 3.85 million tons in October with a decline of 0.4% compared to the same period of last year while pig iron production was recorded as 2.38 million tons, down by 3.1%. On a month-on-month basis, crude steel production dropped by 0.9% in October and pig iron production also fell by 3.2%. In the first ten months of the year, crude steel production reached 38.8 million tons with a rise of 3.8% from a year earlier while pig iron production rose by 1.9% to 24.9 million tons.
