Germany’s October crude steel output up 8.49 percent over September

According to the statistics released by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in October German mills produced 2.14 million metric tons of pig iron, marking a decrease of 16.8 percent year on year but up 12.63 percent compared to September this year, while the country's crude steel output amounted to 3.45 million metric tons, down 11 percent year on year but up 8.49 percent month on month.

Meanwhile, in the first ten months of the year, Germany's pig iron output totaled 15.65 million mt and its crude steel production amounted to 26.11 million metric tons, declining by 38.3 percent and 34.9 percent respectively compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
