German September crude steel output shows rise

The data released by the Federal Statistics Office shows that Germany's crude steel production amounted to 3.88 million ton in September with a rise of 7.4% from a year earlier while pig iron production was recorded as 2.48 million tons with a rise of 7.8%. On a month-on-month basis, crude steel production showed an increase of 0.6% compared to August and pig iron production rose by 2.8%. In the first nine months of the year, crude steel and pig iron production reached 34.9 million tons and 22.6 million tons with a rise of 4.2% and 2.6% from a year earlier, respectively.
