German crude steel output at 4.1 million mt in June

German crude steel production in June rose by 2.7 percent year on year to 4.1 million metric tons, according to the provisional data issued by the Federal Statistics Office of Germany. Meanwhile, national pig iron production for the same month increased by 1.6 percent year on year to reach 2.58 million metric tons.

Compared to the previous month, Germany's crude steel production figure registered a 1.3 percent increase in June, while pig iron production edged up by 0.5 percent.  

German crude steel output totaled 24.55 million metric tons through the first six months of the year, up 5.2 percent year on year. In addition, pig iron output amounted to 15.47 million metric tons, up 3.4 percent on the same period last year.
