Qinghai Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xining Special Steel Co. has announced that in 2011 its sales revenue reached RMB 8.1 billion ($1.38 billion), up 14.8 percent year on year, while its total net profit amounted to RMB 530 million ($83.99 million), up 66 percent year on year. Xining Special Steel's total industrial production value last year amounted to RMB 9 billion ($1.425 billion), up 14.45 percent year on year.

While Xining Special Steel possesses considerable coking coal and iron ore resources, its annual finished steel output capacity of just 1.2 million mt has slowed down its development.
