Kansas City, Missouri-based wire rope producer WireCo WorldGroup said Tuesday that it has purchased Pennsylvania-based manufacturer Phillystran Inc.

WireCo, formerly called Wire Rope Corp. of America, produces wire rope and other industrial steel wire products while Phillystran makes specialized, high tenacity fiber ropes and strands, with a manufacturing site in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania as well as a sales office in Europe.
