German industrial gas producer Westfalen Gruppe has announced that it will build an electrolyzer at Luxembourg-headquartered steelmaker ArcelorMittal’s subsidiary ArcelorMittal France’s Florange plant. The electrolyzer is scheduled to produce hydrogen from January 2026.

Westfalen Gruppe’s French subsidiary Westfalen France has been supplying ArcelorMittal’s steelworks with hydrogen since 2010. These supplies will now be replaced in an environmentally friendly way from 2026 with the commissioning of the new electrolyzer.
