According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 57,681 mt in July 2023, up 26.6 percent from June but down 22.2 percent from July 2022 levels. By value, tin plate imports totaled $105.1 million in July 2023, compared to $83.4 million in June and $148.2 million in July 2022.
The US imported the most tin plate from Netherlands in July, with 22,440 mt, compared to 16,567 mt in June and 19,704 in July 2022. Other top sources of imported tin plate in July include Germany, with 13,515 mt; Canada, with 11,631 mt; and South Korea, with 8,796 mt.
