US tin plate imports down 14.2 percent in November

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 48,832 mt in November 2018, down 14.2 percent from October and down 37.2 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, tin plate imports totaled $49.2 million in November 2018, compared to $59.0 million in the previous month and $75.3 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most tin plate from Netherlands in November, with 26,035 mt, compared to 25,915 mt in October. Other top sources of imported tin plate in November include China, with 7,734 mt; Canada, with 6,987 mt; and Germany, with 6,944 mt.
