US rig count ticks down while Canadian count continues to yo-yo

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending November 22, the US rig count declined by one to 1,761, following an eight-rig increase the previous week.  Additionally, the rig count is still down by 56 from 1,817 rigs during the same week a year ago.  The oil rig count increased by two to 1,387 whereas the gas rig count decreased by one to 369.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 33 in the week ending November 22 to reach 368, following a 23-rig increase the week before.  Additionally, the Canadian rig count was down 19 from 387 rigs during the same week a year ago.
