According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of rebar totaled 55,797 mt in November 2019, up 0.1 percent from October and up 18.1 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, rebar imports totaled $26.6 million in November 2019, compared to $28.5 million in the previous month and $27.5 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most rebar from Turkey in November, with 22,916 mt, compared to 12,438 mt in October and 21 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported rebar in November include Algeria, with 14,626 mt; Mexico, with 9,627 mt; Spain, with 4,993 mt; and Dominican Republic, with 2,174 mt.
