US rebar exports down 19.5 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 20,051 mt in September 2023, down 19.5 percent from August but up 50.9 percent from September 2022. By value, rebar exports totaled $16.8 million in September, compared to $20.8 million in the previous month and $13.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in September with 18,504 mt, compared to 22,517 mt in August and 9,754 mt in September 2022. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in September.
