US rebar imports down 0.3 percent in November

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of rebar totaled 47,231 mt in November 2018, down 0.3 percent from October and down 12.3 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, rebar imports totaled $27.5 million in November 2018, compared to $29.9 million in the previous month and $29.8 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most rebar from Spain in November, with 13,498 mt, compared to 13,498 mt in October. Other top sources of imported rebar in November include Italy, with 11,337 mt; Mexico, with 9,379 mt; Taiwan, with 8,585 mt; and Costa Rica, with 4,049 mt.
