US rebar exports up 9.8 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 14,095 mt in September 2018, up 9.8 percent from August but down 61.4 percent from September 2017 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $9.7 million in September, compared to $10.7 million in the previous month and $25.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in September with 11,714 mt, compared to 8,990 mt in August and 35,489 mt in September 2017. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in September.
