According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 37,749 mt in March 2018, up 19.1 percent from February and up 71.7 percent from March 2017 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $25.5 million in March, compared to $21.3 million in the previous month and $12.5 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in March with 34,015 mt, compared to 26,233 mt in February and 16,872 mt in March 2017. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 2,275 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in March.
