According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 26,766 mt in May 2018, up 1.3 percent from April and up 12.3 percent from May 2017 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $18.5 million in May, compared to $18.1 million in the previous month and $14.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in May with 22,754 mt, compared to 22,850 mt in April and 22,229 mt in May 2017. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 2,627 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in May.
