US rebar exports rise 5.2 percent in May

US exports of rebar totaled 23,843 mt in May, up 5.2 percent from April but down 4.8 percent from May 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $14.7 million in May, compared to $13.5 million in the previous month and $13.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in May with 22,229 mt, compared to 19,882 mt in April and 22,256 mt in May 2016. No other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) of US export rebar were recorded in May.
