US rebar exports rise 3.1 percent in April

US exports of rebar totaled 22,664 mt in April, up 3.1 percent from March but down 16.1 percent from April 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $13.5 million in April, compared to $12.5 million in the previous month and $14.2 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in April, with 19,882 mt, compared to 16,872 mt in March and 24,160 mt in April 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 1,061 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US rebar exports in April.
