US rebar exports rise 17.7 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 34,907 mt in July, up 17.7 percent from June and up 39.7 percent from July 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $22.9 million in July, compared to $18.9 million in the previous month and $14.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in July with 31,086 mt, compared to 25,452 mt in June and 22,699 mt in July 2016. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) of US export rebar in July.
