US rebar exports down 56.3 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 20,153 mt in July 2018, down 56.3 percent from June and down 41.4 percent from July 2017 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $13.3 million in July, compared to $31.0 million in the previous month and $22.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in July with 16,763 mt, compared to 43,473 mt in June and 31,086 mt in July 2017. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 1,315 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in July.
