US OCTG exports fall 13.8 percent in January

US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 21,041 mt in January, down 13.8 percent from December and down 21.1 percent from January 2016 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $35.9 million in January, compared to $58.1 million in the previous month and $66.7 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in January, with 16,463 mt, compared to 16,154 mt in December and 17,518 mt in January 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 1,068 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US OCTG exports in January.
