US issues preliminary subsidy rates on rebar from three countries

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the preliminary results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty order on rebar from Vietnam, Egypt and Algeria between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.

The DOC has preliminarily determined that countervailable subsidies are being provided to rebar exporters from the given three countries. The DOC has preliminarily determined net countervailable subsidy rates of 1.08 percent for Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company and other Vietnamese companies, 29.51 percent for Egyptian exporters and 72.94 percent for Tosyali Iron Steel Industry Algeria SPA and all other Algerian companies.

The final results of the review are expected to be announced within 120 days of the publication of the preliminary results.
