US HDG exports rise 4.6 percent in February

US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 107,116 mt in February, up 4.6 percent from January and up 8.7 percent from February 2016 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $109.9 million in February, compared to $104.1 million in the previous month and $93.7 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in February, with 58,672 mt, compared to 62,160 mt in January and 56,893 mt in February 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 45,971 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HDG exports in February.
