According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheet and strip totaled 120,010 mt in July 2023, down 5.9 percent from June but up 27.9 percent from July 2022. By value, HDG exports totaled $165.2 million in July, compared to $174.9 million in the previous month and $135.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in July with 61,467 mt, compared to 66,489 mt in June and 48,180 mt in July 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 57,516 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in July.
