US drawn wire imports up 0.7 percent in March

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of drawn wire totaled 45,638 mt in March 2023, up 0.7 percent from February but down 23.9 percent from March 2022 levels. By value, drawn wire imports totaled $71.8 million in March 2023, compared to $71.7 million in February and $126.2 million in March 2022.

The US imported the most drawn wire from Mexico in March, with 18,649 mt, compared to 18,929 mt in February and 22,224 mt in March 2022. Other top sources of imported drawn wire in March include Canada, with 9,251 mt; China, with 5,558 mt; Vietnam, with 2,521 mt; and South Korea, with 2,328 mt.
