US drawn wire imports down 3.2 percent in February

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of drawn wire totaled 45,319 mt in February 2023, down 3.2 percent from January and down 16.9 percent from February 2022 levels. By value, drawn wire imports totaled $71.8 million in February 2023, compared to $77.9 million in January and $89.5 million in February 2022.

The US imported the most drawn wire from Mexico in February, with 18,929 mt, compared to 17,555 mt in January and 20,260 mt in February 2022. Other top sources of imported drawn wire in February include Canada, with 10,026 mt; China, with 6,737 mt; Vietnam, with 1,883 mt; and Germany, with 1,827 mt.
