US drawn wire exports up 0.6 percent in May

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of drawn wire totaled 7,219 mt in May 2023, up 0.6 percent from April but down 3.1 percent from May 2022. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $20.1 million in May, compared to $20.4 million in the previous month and $18.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most drawn wire to Mexico in May with 2,896 mt, compared to 2,822 mt in April and 2,703 mt in May 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 2,656 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US drawn wire exports in May.
