According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of drawn wire totaled 7,836 mt in July 2023, down 7.9 percent from June and up 24.1percent from July 2022. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $20.0 million in July, compared to $22.4 million in the previous month and $16.5 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most drawn wire to Mexico in July with 3,158 mt, compared to 3,319 mt in June and 2,269 mt in July 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 3,026 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US drawn wire exports in July.
