US DOC extends time limit for final determination on PC from China

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has decided to postpone its final determination and extend provisional measures taken in the preliminary affirmative determination in its AD investigation (AD) investigation of prestressed concrete steel wire (PC) strand from China.

The DOC announced in the Federal Register on Wednesday, January, 13, that respondents Xinhua Metal Products Co., Ltd. and Wuxi Jinyang Metal Products Co., Ltd. requested the extension and the DOC agreed to it, postponing its final determination from March 2010 until May 7, 2010. Suspension of liquidation will also be extended accordingly.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the DOC issued the following preliminary AD margins for the two companies in December 2009:

(1)  Wuxi Jinyang Metal Products Co., Ltd. - 37.72 percent

(2)  Xinhua Metal Products Co., Ltd. - 151.44 percent
