US cut-length plate imports up 5.9 percent in November from October

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cut-length plate totaled 41,659 mt in November 2024, up 5.9 percent from October and up 18.7 percent from November 2023 levels. By value, cut-length plate imports totaled $44.1 million in November 2024, compared to $66.7 million in October and $45.7 million in November 2023.

The US imported the most cut-length plate from Canada in November with 17,683 mt compared to 18,908 mt in October and 16,877 mt in November 2023. Other top sources of imported cut-length plate in November include South Korea with 15,377 mt, Australia with 3,796 mt, and Sweden with 1,933 mt.
