US cut length plate exports fall 20.8 percent in February

US exports of cut length plate totaled 78,427 mt in February, down 20.8 percent from January and down 7.6 percent from February 2016 levels. By value, cut length plate exports totaled $70.7 million in February, compared to $82.7 million in the previous month and $70.9 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most cut length plate to Canada in February, with 39,447 mt, compared to 49,977 mt in January and 51,505 mt in February 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 32,767 mt; and Belgium, with 4,678 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US cut length plate exports in February.
