US CRC exports down 10 percent in May

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 37,890 mt in May 2019, down 10.0 percent from April and down 16.8 percent from May 2018 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $42.5 million in May, compared to $47.6 million in the previous month and $50.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in May with 22,252 mt, compared to 25,964 mt in April and 28,576 mt in May 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 13,437 mt. There were no other major destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export CRC in May.
