According to the information issued by the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, Russia and other countries utilized 71.73 percent of the new annual quota imposed by Ukraine for seamless casing and tubing imports with outside diameter up to 406.4 mm, supplying a total of 10,924 metric tons.
The new quota for the period starting from October 1, 2009, through September 30, 2010 stands at 15,230 mt of seamless casing and tubing imports - up 726 mt compared to the previous annual quota.
Particularly, Russia utilized 100 percent of its quota, having received licenses to export 10,827 mt of seamless casing and tubing to Ukraine, Romania utilized 35 percent of its quota, i.e. 66 mt of the licensed 190 mt, while other countries utilized 4.38 percent of their new quota, i.e. 31 mt of seamless casing and tubing of a licensed 713 mt
Meanwhile, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, India and China, having received licenses to export 2,231 mt, 1,003 mt, 156 mt, 66 mt and 44 mt respectively to Ukraine, have not use their new quotas yet.
The previous quota for the period starting from October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2009 was standing at 14,504 mt of seamless casing and tubing imports, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy's order No. 552 dated October 13, 2008. During the period in question, Slovakia, India and China, having received licenses to export 148 mt, 63 mt and 42 mt respectively to Ukraine, have not delivered any seamless casing and tubing to Ukraine.
