Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NZF), the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer has announced that it has completed the capital repairs of its melting furnace No. 2, which is planned to be put into operation by April this year.

During the last ten years, NZF has carried out capital repairs at a total of ten melting furnaces.

Meanwhile, in 2009 NZF registered a 20 percent decrease year on year in its ferroalloys production to about 660,000 mt, with its December output amounting to 66,916 mt.

NZF's production capacities allow it to produce one million mt of silicomanganese per year, 250,000 mt per year of high carbon ferromanganese, and more than 15,000 mt per year of medium carbon ferromanganese.
