Ukraine sees 27.3 percent drop in ferroalloy exports in May over April

In May this year, Ukraine's ferroalloy exports went down by 27.3 percent to 82,700 mt compared to April. However, on year-on-year basis the figure constituted an increase of 40.5 percent.

Specifically, in May Ukraine's ferrosilicomanganese exports decreased by 26.2 percent to 58,240 mt, its ferromanganese exports went down by 38.6 percent to 9,540 mt, while its ferrosilicon exports dropped by 36.2 percent to 5,860 mt, all compared to April.

The country's earnings from ferroalloys exports in May decreased by 24 percent or $30.74 million month on month to $97.53 million.

Meanwhile, in January-May 2010, Ukraine's exports of ferroalloys increased by 2.8 times to 513,080 mt, as compared to the same period last year.
