Ukraine ferroalloy exports up 8.5 percent in Q1

According to the data released by Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in the January-March period of this year Ukraine exported 234,144 mt of ferroalloy, up 8.5 percent year on year, worth a total of $286.094 million, up 4.1 percent year on year.

The exports mostly went to the Netherlands (29.34 percent in monetary terms), Turkey (17.89 percent) and Russia (10.86 percent).

In the first quarter of this year, Ukraine imported 11,639 mt of ferroalloy, down 61.4 percent year on year, worth a total of $24.962 million, down 57 percent year on year. The main suppliers of ferroalloy imports to Ukraine in the first quarter this year were Russia (28.34 percent in monetary terms), India (13 percent) and Norway (11.95 percent).
