The eastern Indian state of Odisha will put two iron ore blocks up for auction within the next one month, a government official said on Wednesday, January 18.

The official said that, buoyed by the successful conclusion of three iron ore block auctions last year, the government has completed all preliminary work to auction  the Netrabandhapahad and Kalmang mines. The formal notification for conducting the auction will be issued within the next one month, he added.

However, details of the reserves of iron ore determined at these two blocks and other geological details are not available, with the official stating that geological details and mappings will be made available only after notification of the auction is issued.
