In February this year, Turkey’s hot rolled coil (HRC) imports amounted to 369,822 metric tons, up by 63.9 percent compared to January and by 190.8 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $203.14 million, increasing by 61.0 percent compared to the previous month and by 188.6 percent year on year.
In the first two months of this year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 497,002 mt, down 23.7 percent, while the value of these imports fell by 24.9 percent to $272.53 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest HRC import source was Malaysia, which supplied 135,137 mt. Malaysia was followed by Russia with 103,242 mt, down 37.4 percent, and China with 70,560 mt, down 71.0 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
