According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first 11 months of last year Turkey's seamless pipe imports totaled 198,679 mt, up 4.07 percent compared to the same period of 2012, while the value of these imports rose 0.82 percent year on year to $275.56 million.
In November last year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 18,541 mt, down 27.08 percent year on year and increasing by 24.29 percent compared to October.
In the January-November period of last year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from the CIS amounted to 32,409 mt, decreasing 27.04 percent, while imports from the EU totaled 45,242 mt, down 8.80 percent, both year on year.
On the other hand, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 112,172 metric tons in the January-November period of last year, up 21.23 percent year on year. China, which accounted for shares of 32.8 percent in 2011 and 47.7 percent in 2012 in Turkey's overall seamless pipe imports, achieved a 56.46 percent share in the given period.
