Turkey's seamless pipe imports up 16.67 percent in Q1

In March this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 23,020 metric tons, up 20.98 percent year on year and increasing by 170.57 percent compared to February, while the value of these imports totaled $29.53 million, up 21.65 percent year on year and increasing by 77.17 percent month on month, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).


 
Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year Turkey's seamless pipe imports increased by 16.67 percent to 56,129 metric tons, while the value of these imports amounted to $77.18 million, up 5.33 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
 
In the first quarter of the current year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 37,243 metric tons, up 51.34 percent year on year. China was followed by Ukraine and Germany, with respectively 4,943 metric tons and 4,162 metric tons of seamless pipe exports to Turkey in the given period.
