Adana-based Turkish pipe manufacturer Mazlum Mangtay announced that it will invest five million dollars to build a new plant on a recently acquired 24,000 m2 site for the production of spiral welded pipes and drilling pipes.
The new equipment, which has been acquired with one million dollar investment, will enable the plant to produce spiral welded pipes up to 3 meters in diameter with wall thickness of 30 millimeters and double the company's current annual spiral welded pipe output to 80,000 metric tons. The company also plans to double its number of employees to more than 100 people.
The construction of the new plant is scheduled to be completed by April 2010, while the plant is planned to reach its full capacity by the end of 2010.
General director of the company Sahin Mangtay said, "With the commissioning of the new plant we want to sell our products in export markets, such as Middle East, Turkic states and North Africa."
Established in 1967, Mazlum Mangtay has an annual production capacity of 40,000 metric tons of spiral welded pipes and 10,000 metric tons of drilling pipes.
