Turkey’s ferroalloy imports from Georgia and China surge in Nov

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2012 Turkey's ferroalloy imports fell 3.5 percent compared to the previous month, following an almost 15 percent month-on-month increase in October and were up 44.7 percent compared to November 2011, totaling 41,476 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $57.85 million, increasing by 32.4 percent as compared to October and up 34.6 percent year on year.

In the first 11 months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 401,620 metric tons, stable compared to January-November 2011.

Turkey's ferroalloy imports from Ukraine in November this year amounted to 10,045 metric tons, down 54 percent compared to the previous month, while imports from Georgia in the month in question amounted to 6,940 mt, almost septuble compared to October. Meanwhile, China exported 3,359 mt of ferroalloys to Turkey in November, almost sextuple month on month.
