Turkey’s ferroalloy imports down 3.9 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first half of the current year Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 201,044 metric tons, decreasing 3.9 percent compared to January-June 2012. The value of these imports decreased 9.5 percent compared to the first half of 2012, amounting to $275 million.
 
Turkey's ferroalloy imports from Ukraine in the first half of this year amounted to 75,053 metric tons, down 4.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while imports from Russia in the first quarter amounted to 37,178 mt, up 61.8 percent year on year. India's ferroalloy exports to Turkey in January-June this year totaled 36,053 mt, rising 14.2 percent year on year.
 
In June this year, Turkey's ferroalloy imports rose 29 percent compared to the previous month to 33,609 mt and were down nine percent compared to June 2012. The value of these imports amounted to $46 million, increasing 24.9 percent compared to the previous month and down 14.4 percent year on year.
