Turkish wire rod producer Ege Celik is planning to shut down its rolling mill for necessary maintenance works. According to company sources, the repairs will take 14-15 days and will be started this week. SteelOrbis has learned that, considering the current market circumstances, the producer has decided to use this time to complete the needed maintenance works. The mill is expected to continue to trade as usual as it has a full range of products in stock.

Ege Celik is capable of 2 million mt of crude steel production per year, while its total rolling capacity is 1.2 million mt, though it has been only partially operational in recent years, SteelOrbis understands.
