Turkish steel producer Ereğli Demir ve Çelik (Erdemir) has announced that it has cast iron for the 50,000th time at its blast furnace No.1, called “Ayşe”, today, August 4.
The given furnace, which is the country’s first domestic blast furnace, has produced a total of 26.5 million mt of liquid raw iron since its commissioning in 2008.
Since the date of commissioning, blast furnace No. 1 has continued production without suspensions for maintenance and modernization works.
