Turkey’s Cemtas starts test production at new auto stabilizer bar line

Bursa-based Turkish steelmaker Cemtas has started test production at its new auto stabilizer bar line for Mercedes Benz. The company had received a government incentive certificate for installation of this new line.

Cemtas had stated on July 3 that construction and installation of its imported new auto stabilizer bar line for Mercedes Benz located on a 3,700 square meter area were completed and that it would start trial production by the end of August this year.

The company also stated that installation of another auto stabilizer bar line, for MAN Truck & Bus AG, is expected to finish and that test production is expected to begin by the end of 2020.

Output of the company’s melt shop in the first half of the current year totaled 67,431 mt, decreasing 27 percent year on year from 92,138 mt in the first half of 2018, while output of its rolling mill totaled 64,904 mt, decreasing 20 percent year on year from 81,440 mt in the first half of 2018.
