Turkey launches AD probe on tinplate from five countries

According to a statement published in the country’s Official Gazette, Turkey has launched an antidumping investigation on tin-plated rolled flat steel from Germany, China, Japan, South Korea and Serbia. The investigation covers the period between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2023.

The investigation was started upon the application made by the Turkish steel producer Tosyalı Toyo Çelik. In the light of the evidence submitted during the application period and the findings presented based on the data in the trade ministry’s database on imports, it has been determined that allegedly dumped tinplate from the given countries caused financial damage in the domestic market.

In 2023, Turkey imported 28,021 mt of tinplate from China, 27,771 mt from Germany, 12,609 mt from Serbia, 12,211 mt from Japan and 4,844 mt from South Korea, according to SteelOrbis’ data.

The products subject to the investigation fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7210.11.00, 7210.12.20, 7210.90.40, 7212.10.10, 7212.10.90 and 7212.40.20.
