US tin plate imports down 12.4 percent in February 2026 from January

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 51,471 mt in February this year, down 12.4 percent from January and down 48.5 percent year on year. By value, tin plate imports totaled $75.17 million in February this year compared to $77.43 million in January and $155.64 million in February 2025.

The US imported the most tin plate from Germany in February with 19,780 mt compared to 2,618 mt in January and 35,851 mt in February 2025. Other top sources of imported tin plate in February include Turkey with 11,064 mt, the Netherlands with 10,891 mt, Canada with 4,551 mt, and South Korea with 3,779 mt.
