US tin plate imports down 20.2 percent in March 2026 from February

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 41,058 mt in March this year, down 20.2 percent from February and down 56.7 percent year on year. By value, tin plate imports totaled $55.94 million in March this year compared to $75.17 million in February and $144.05 million in March 2025.

The US imported the most tin plate from Canada in March with 10,381 mt compared to 4,551 mt in February and 11,754 mt in March 2025. Other top sources of imported tin plate in March include Taiwan with 9,314 mt, Germany with 6,218 mt, South Korea with 5,794 mt, and the Netherlands with 4,698 mt.
